2018 Number One Red and Green Sauce... Grande Burrito! #breakfasttacos

After a trip south to our favorite spot off Purgatory Road in New Braunfels, TX for breakfast tacos and the tastiest Red and Green Sauces, we discovered the convenience store changed the recipe... bummer.

Luckily, we have a backup which is now the Number One Red and Green Sauce for breakfast tacos! Stopped by last weekend and confirmed this one is the Winner of our quest.

The quest continues and we are always on the lookout for Red and Green Sauces that may bump Number One. However, as of this post, Grande Burrito's Red and Green Sauces is our choice for breakfast tacos.

The Quest Revisited - "Best Tasting Red Sauce and Green Sauce for Breakfast Tacos" #breakfasttacos

Several years ago we started a quest to find the "Best Tasting Red Sauce and Green Sauce for Breakfast Tacos". The quest was extended and eventually morphed to its current form... how does it compare to the Red Sauce and Green Sauce at the Sac-N-Pac in New Braunfels.

A recent trip to the area, left us bumming. It turned out the Sac-N-Pac is a Stripes Convenience Store, and they changed the recipe for the sauces. It's more a fresh and tasty salsa versus the spicy and slightly oily sauce that had us coming back for more.

That said, we are replacing the Sac-N-Pac's (aka Stripes) Red and Green Sauces with El Grande Burrito's Red and Green Sauces. Their sauces came closest to the old recipe Sac-N-Pac offered customers.

Breakfast taco urge hit us hard. Went with Grande Burrito this morning! Red Sauce and Green Sauce still ranks up there with the Sac-N-Pac on Purgatory Rd, New Braunfels!

Decided carne a la mexicana at Grande Burrito this morning for brunch. Added eggs too. Tasty!

Stopped for breakfast tacos at a restaurant that we have been to before... Grande something. Tasty, tasty, tasty...

Taste Testing Extended for the "Best Tasting Breakfast Taco Red Sauce and Green Sauce"... This One remains Close!

Quest for the best tasting Breakfast Taco Red and Green Sauces has been extended to 2016! We need a larger sample size to make a decision.

This round we went back to Grande Burrito in Allen for their Chorizo, Eggs, and Potatoes, and to try their Red Sauce and Green Sauce.

The Taste Team admits this one is really close to the New Braunfels' Sac-N-Pac Red Sauce and Green Sauce.

They are still open, too!

Taste Testing Continues for the "Best Tasting Breakfast Taco Red Sauce and Green Sauce"... This One is Close!

Quest continues for the best tasting Breakfast Taco Red and Green Sauces.

This round takes us back to North Texas at Grande Burrito in Allen. Ordered Chorizo, Eggs, and Potatoes, and then tried their Red Sauce and Green Sauce.

The Taste Team admits this one comes very close to the New Braunfels' Sac-N-Pac Red Sauce and Green Sauce. The only issue is they are closing in the next few weeks.

Sure hope they re-open soon and nearby. Stay tuned for more...!
