Cadillac Pizza Pub in McKinney.

Hidden in Downtown McKinney is the Cadillac Pizza Pub. Enjoy pizza cooked in a brick, wood-fired oven and some great Blues music.

The pizzas are tasty and are not the normal take-out fare. We especially gravitate to the Coupe Deville Pizza which is a "meatatarian's" delight. Topped with two types of Sausage, Canadian Bacon, and Pepperoni!

Add Margaritas served with crushed ice (no frozen Margaritas available) and you are ready to jam to the music.

Thursdays are "Open Blues Mic", so be prepared for anything. Saturdays are a venue for local bands to entertain the Pub's guests.

One band that keeps us coming back is the Buzz Andrews Band. They put on a great show. So, get ready to get "Buzzed" when you go!

Carrabba's Italian Grill in Plano.

Stopped by Carrabba's located off Central Parkway (75N) in Plano for a bite to eat. Enjoyed a good meal that started with Bread and Spiced Olive Oil for dipping. Prices are higher than others but welcomed a change to the normal Tex-Mex fare.

Of interest was the house red wine - Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. An Italian Red that went well with the meal.

For the meal , opted for the Sirloin Marsala - 10 oz. USDA Choice center-cut sirloin topped with mushrooms, prosciutto and our Lombardo Marsala wine sauce.

For an added twist, ordered a Margherita Pizza topped with Roma tomatoes, basil, extra virgin olive oil and mozzarella cheese.

Good stuff!

Joe's Italian Bistro in Allen.

Hidden in a strip mall along Greenville Avenue in Allen is Joe's Italian Bistro. Good food that is inexpensive. We have tried their Piccata, Linguine, and Stromboli and have been more than pleased.

Start with an appetizer of fresh bread and a side of Alfredo Sauce for dipping. Add a House Chianti and your well on your way to a filling and tasty meal.

Before Market Square and Super Target opened in Allen, business was brisk and seating limited. Since then, there is virtually no wait.

May be a result of the Brio Tuscan Grille and the Olive Garden opening. Regardless, keep a placeholder for Joe's Italian Bistro and be sure to try their House Chianti!

P.F. Changs China Bistro in Allen.

Good food abounds at PF Changs with its Lettuce Wraps, Mongolian Beef, and Sauteed Green Beans being favorites. But, what brings us back is our sweet tooth - specifically, the "Great Wall of Chocolate".

"The Great Wall of Chocolate" is six layers of RICH chocolate cake frosted with semi-sweet chocolate chips and served with a raspberry sauce. It is moist and needs a glass of milk when eaten.

One order easily satisfies a family of four. Just be sure to save room for dessert, else you will miss out on this chocolate delight!

Gloria's in Frisco.

El Salvadora and its foods come to the menu at Gloria's in Frisco. Located throughout the Metroplex, we seem to gravitate to the restaurant in Frisco.

What brings us back is the Sunday Brunch Menu - specifically, the Steak and Eggs entree. Grilled flank steak served with 3 eggs and refried black beans make for a great way to start the day.

Add the special dipping sauce for the steak and you have us coming back for more. Not certain about its ingredients, but it does contain vinegar and herbs that brings out the flavors in the steak.

Located just north of Stonebridge Mall in Frisco, try Gloria's Steak and Eggs when you get a chance.

Jalapeno's Mexican Grill in Allen.

When craving for a strong Margarita, we go to Jalapeno's in Allen. Order the Romero Special to make sure your stomach is full, and then ask for the Mercedes Margarita.

The Romero Special is a "Guisado-like" dish served with rice and beans. It can be made spicy or mild and includes your choice of flour or corn tortillas. Great meal at a moderate price.

The Mercedes Margarita can be ordered "frozen" or "on-the-rocks". It will put a buzz in your head, so be extremely careful. Be sure you have a designated driver in your party, else call a cab. One is enough in the jumbo size. Two is too much for one person!

La Finca in Allen.

UPDATE - La Finca's in Allen closed on 29 June. We will miss it sorely!

Another Tex-Mex restaurant that we frequent. Foods to try are the Steak Ranchero, Fajita Ranchera, and the Pollo Asado. Descriptions from the menu are provided below:

Steak Ranchero - A juicy rib-eye served Mexican style, covered with our own tangy ranchero sauce and melted cheeses. Served with rice and refried beans.

Fajita Ranchera - A beef fajita steak smothered in ranchero sauce and melted cheese, & a shrimp & veggie skewer. Served with rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo.

Pollo Asado - Charbroiled chicken with sautéed onions and bell peppers. Served on a hot skillet with rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo on the side.

Also, try the mild Salsa and the "Green Sauce" with the never-ending bowls of chips. Give this one a look see while passing through Allen, located just off Hwy 75 at the Bethany Exit Ramp.

Tino's Too in Plano.

We have visited Tino's Too on several occasions. What keeps bringing us back are two dishes - the Steak Picado and the Chicken Picado.

Also, the mild Salsa is made fresh and makes for a great appetizer to get your palette started before the main course arrives. Serves a decent Margarita and Queso as well. Located in Plano, check out Tino's Too at 2205 K Avenue when you get a chance.

FYI: Tino's located in the Collin Creek Mall in Plano is also available. Same fare, same food, same recommendation.
